Did You Know October is National Dental Hygiene Month!

This is when we celebrate the importance of good oral hygiene and the hard work of dental hygienists. As Dental Hygienists we are passionate about our field, and help raise awareness on the importance of oral health. Remember fresh breath, strong teeth, and healthy gums are all part of excellent oral health. That’s why it’s important to brush twice a day for two minutes, floss or waterpik daily, and use a recommended mouthrinse. Make sure you make time for your three or six month checkups and cleanings at your dental office. As I have said many times “Your Mouth Is the Key to Your Overall Health”!

I have been in the field now for 12 years! I have learned a lot including how small the world truly is by making many connections with patients. I’m also lucky to know and work with many wonderful people both currently and along my dental hygiene path. Every practice I have worked in has taught me something new and because of this I have become a well-rounded hygienist. I feel I have made a difference in many people’s lives and hope to continue doing so. I’m honored to be a hygienist and to be part of such a loving family, and community. So many doors have opened, and paths have been taken, and I can’t wait to see what the next 10 years bring.

I want to say thank you to all my amazing patients who make my job rewarding and enjoyable. I also want to say thank you to all my fellow hygienists out there for all your hard work and dedication!

We climb mountains and fight gum disease!
