Have Tried The New Waterpik Sonic-Fusion

This past Friday our office had a Lunch and Learn with our girl Heather from Waterpik. Many of our patients had been asking us about the Waterpik Sonic-Fusion toothbrush and I wanted to provide them with the proper recommendations about this product. The Sonic-Fusion technology is spectacular and is great for those who struggle with good homecare, as well as those with braces, implants, crowns, and bridges. This product removes plaque and bacteria above and below the gumline with the combined power of water flossing and brushing at the same time.

The Sonic-fusion unit is a little bulky but that’s because it has so much technology as it's both a water flosser and toothbrush in one. This product is unique and 1st of its kind as it can be used in three ways; just a toothbrush, just a water flosser, or combine both at the same time. The brush can be disconnected from the unit allowing you to walk around with it. The brush by itself is comparable to the Oral-B and Sonicare toothbrushes as the brush strokes per minute are similar, it has a 2- minute timer with quad pacer, pressure control, and a travel case. They also have mail- in rebates, warranty, and in most cases, you can use your flexible spending.

Although, I think this product is a wonderful addition to the world of dental homecare tools I do feel it is patient specific. It’s a great tool especially for those who get a lot of food trapped, prone to heavy build up or lots of bleeding no matter how much they floss. If you already have an electric toothbrush and water flosser and they are working well for you, I would continue using them. If you’re in the market for a new dental product to help keep your oral cavity and heart healthy then I would encourage you to discuss with your dental provider if the Sonic-Fusion is right for you.
